“UNH is a great environment for you to immerse yourself in the culture and the language. I have some classes where I’m the only international student, so I’m almost forced to speak English, forced out of my comfort zone. I really like that.”

What was one of the first things you noticed when you arrived at UNH?
I was impressed by how nice and friendly people are here, but I was also impressed by how people here are so active and outdoorsy. I really like the active and outdoorsy part of American culture because I really like sports, and I'm a pretty outdoorsy person.
Tell us about your experience studying abroad in China.
It’s a great feeling to go to another country and use the language that you’ve been learning, and they understand you. It’s such a rewarding feeling. I feel like everyone who’s learning a language should definitely go to their country. We can’t grow if we don’t go out of our comfort zone. Learning a language almost forces you to be a different person. It challenges your way of thinking completely. I feel like that definitely transfers into my academics as well. I’m not afraid of asking questions. I’m not afraid of making mistakes.
What would you say to an incoming international student?
体育365 It can be quite overwhelming when you’re first trying to make American friends. Buddies Without Borders, or BWB, is a great first step; it gives you confidence.
