The Magnet Safety Plan is an overview of the UNH regulations on magnet safety. All Magnet Users and Lab Supervisors should read the Plan. All superconducting magnets should be registered prior to use. Please notify us if one is disposed of. The online registration/disposal form can be found in .
For instructions in the event of a quench or a boiling off of cryogens:
- Evacuate the room
- Call your laboratory supervisor and OEHS or the Radiation Safety Officer at 603-862-4041 or 603-312-2500
Each superconducting magnet lab should have a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and a Risk Assessment completed. An SOP template can be found here.
体育365Surveys of superconducting magnets are conducted by OEHS biannually.
Magnet Safety Training and Laboratory and Chemical Safety training are required for Magnet Users. Cryogen Safety is also required for anyone filling magnets with cryogens. See or email RSO体育365 for the training links. Magnet Safety Training and Cryogen Safety Training are required annually. Laboratory and Chemical Safety Training is only required once.
The Knowledge Base contains forms, instruction and training material, minutes, policies, tools and other resources to support your research efforts by topic area.
